Dzyuba spoke about the progress of negotiations with Akron 18:34

Akron forward Artem Dzyuba told how negotiations with the Tolyatti club took place. He also said that he wanted to stay in Moscow until the end. The football player’s words are quoted “Match TV”.

“The talks took place at the last minute. I wanted to stay in Moscow, but I realized that I had almost no chance. I decided to continue my career in Akron. The task is to prove that they were not mistaken with me,” Dzyuba said.

The transfer was officially announced on September 12, the last day of the summer transfer window in Russia.

Dzyuba left Lokomotiv Moscow after the end of last season. The 35-year-old forward played 26 matches in all competitions in the 2023/24 season, scoring 4 goals and making 4 assists. At the end of the season, Lokomotiv finished in fourth place in the Russian Premier League with 53 points.

Akron is a debutant in the Russian Premier League. After seven rounds of the national championship, the Tolyatti team is in 14th place in the play-off zone. The club has five points: one win, two draws and four losses.
