The main transfer of the summer transfer period in Russia was the deal between Lokomotiv and Zenit for Maxim Glushenkov, said Valery Gladilin, former head coach of Moscow Spartak, in an interview with socialbites.ca.
According to him, the 24-year-old midfielder managed to quickly adapt to the new team and shine.
“Glushenkov was in a team with Brazilians as its core and quickly adapted to the game without any adjustment. He is the best signing of this summer transfer window,” Gladilin said.
The transfer window in Russia closes on September 12. Glushenkov moved from Lokomotiv to Zenit this summer. He is currently the top scorer in the Russian Premier League (RPL) with seven goals. He was injured in the fifth round match against Khimki – the ball hit his hand and the player was later diagnosed with a fracture. Glushenkov underwent surgery and is out indefinitely. In his absence, Zenit drew with Spartak (0:0), lost to Akron (1:1 on penalties, 4:5) and beat Paris NN (3:0).
