Figure skater Dikidzhi said he could miss the Russian team’s test skates

Russian figure skater Vladislav Dikidzhi admitted that he may miss the test skates of the Russian national team due to illness TASS.

“I’m sick. Will I perform at the skates in St. Petersburg? If I can recover in the next few days, I will perform. But based on how I feel, I don’t know yet,” Dikidzhi said.

In February 2024, Dikiji won the bronze medal at the Spartakiad. The winner was Evgeniy Semenenko, while Mark Kondratyuk took second place.

Dikidzhi took the lead in the men’s figure skating at the 2023 Russian Championships after the short program, but made a mistake in the free skate, finishing second behind current two-time national champion Evgeniy Semenenko. Third place went to Petr Gumennik, who finished fourth after the short program and had the best performance of all participants in the free program.

The International Skating Union (ISU) has suspended Russian and Belarusian athletes from competition in the spring of 2022. The ISU explained its decision with recommendations from the International Olympic Committee. Russian figure skaters have completed their international season ahead of schedule. The last official start for Russian figure skaters on the international stage was the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing.
