The new mobile ten-core Exynos 2500 chipset (s5e9955) was tested in the Basemark benchmark, where the graphics performance (GPU) was checked. It is worth noting that the graphics accelerator is Xclipse 950.
In Basemark’s Sacred Path Vulkan test (with VRS enabled, which improves performance by optimizing shadows), it scored 2,603. For comparison, the Xclipse 940 based on the previous Exynos 2400 chipset received 1,956 points.
In the test with VRS technology disabled, the Xclipse 950 scored 2496 points (versus 1985 points for the Xclipse 940).
The GPU was also put to the test in the Expedition Vulkan test, where it managed to score 5917 points. Xclipse 940, in turn, scored 5194 points.
It turned out that the Xclipse 950 is on average 15-30% more productive than its predecessor in artificial tests. For the test, a device with 16 GB of RAM based on Android 15 OS was selected.
Let’s not forget that not so long ago, information appeared in the media that all Galaxy S25 smartphones will be based exclusively on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chips, despite the fact that Samsung had previously introduced the aforementioned Exynos 2500. The company has not yet made an official comment on this rumor.
