Italian tennis player Jannik Sinner is having the best season of his career. Former third racket of the world, bronze medalist of the London 2012 Olympic Games and founder of a children’s tennis school Nadezhda Petrova reported this to socialbites.ca.
“This is actually the best season of his career. He has this inner confidence that he can beat anyone. It all comes down to the huge amount of preparation he has done. He and his team have started to develop his game quite competently. He had excellent defensive tennis; reliable, consistent. Now he has added aggression and quick movements.
In general, he has an incredible feeling for the ball: he uses the ball well, can play calmly near the goal, can move from corners and give momentum to the ball. He beats everyone with his variety, self-confidence and physical strength. He can change something at the right moment, add speed. And, of course, he is very durable. The sinner tries to spend as little energy as possible, clings to every game and does not give the opponent a chance,” Petrova said.
In the final of the US Open, the Italian representative defeated American Taylor Fritz. The match, which lasted 2 hours and 16 minutes, ended in three sets with the score 6:3, 6:4, 7:5. During the match, Sinner made six aces, made five double faults and converted five of 11 break points (45%). Fritz has ten straight serves, four double faults and converted two of seven break points (29%).
Sinner is the winner of the 2024 Australian Open and winner of 16 ATP tournaments (15 of them singles).
On August 20, the official website of the anti-doping agency in tennis (ITIA) published information that Sinner had avoided disqualification due to two previous positive doping tests. It was reported that the organization did not find serious reasons to disqualify Sinner.
