A court in Rome condemned online platform’directly red‘ To compensate Mediaset for commercial exploitation and infringement of audiovisual copyright in excess of half a million euros.

Specifically, ‘Rojadirecta’ was ordered to pay compensation to Mediaset. EUR 529,579.50 plus EUR 24,786 interest and court costsas reported to CNMV by the media group.

In its decision published on 21 July, the court said, Reaffirms Rojadirecta’s “full responsibility” to make it publicly available “illegally and systematically”. All sports rights acquired by Mediaset since 2010.

“This is another step taken by publishers to defend their content against online piracy,” the group said in a statement.
