Olympic figure skating champion Anna Shcherbakova admitted that she is not yet ready to devote herself to coaching. Her words are a guide TASS.
“Have you ever thought about becoming a coach? There were many offers from us and other national teams, but I’m not yet ready to prove myself in a coaching career,” the figure skater admitted.
Shcherbakova won the gold medal in single skating at the Beijing Olympic Games, ahead of compatriot Alexandra Trusova and Japanese athlete Kaori Sakamoto.
Shcherbakova did not announce the end of her professional career, but did not participate in the competitions of the 2023/24 season. She announced that she had recovered from injury at the end of 2022 and will perform in ice shows. The figure skater hosted the show “Ice Age” together with Alina Zagitova and Alexei Yagudin.
The figure skater is a world champion (2021), Olympic champion (2022) and silver medalist at the European Championships (2020). Winner of the World Team Figure Skating Championships (2021). Shcherbakova won the Russian Championship three times in 2019, 2020 and 2021, and took second place in the national championship in 2022.
