Former CSKA Moscow footballer Valery Masalitin shared his expectations from the upcoming matches against Vietnam and Thailand, telling socialbites.ca that these matches do not mean anything.
“I think Karpin will experiment with watching the players. These matches mean nothing. I don’t think we should expect big victories; our team still needs to get used to it,” said Masalitin.
The Russian national team will play the upcoming friendly matches at the My Dinh Stadium in Hanoi, Vietnam. Valery Karpin’s team will face Vietnam on September 5 and Thailand on September 7. The matches will start at 16:00 Moscow time.
In the spring of 2022, the International Football Federation and the Union of European Football Associations, following the recommendations of the International Olympic Committee, decided to suspend the participation of the Russian national team and all Russian clubs in all competitions controlled by these organizations. The Russians missed the play-offs for the 2022 World Cup and the 2024 European Championship in Germany.
Earlier Valery Karpin said: clear understanding Why is the Russian national team playing?
