CSKA General Director Roman Babaev assessed the team’s start to the Russian Premier League (RPL) season. His words provide guidance Sports24.
“We are happy with the start of the season, but it could have been better. We lost points somewhere, completely against the logic of the game. For example, in the match with Lokomotiv. “There is a lot of work ahead of us,” Babaev said.
On August 31, CSKA beat Khimki near Moscow with a score of 2:0. Goals in this match were scored by Tamerlan Musaev in the 38th minute and Moises in the 63rd minute. The Ordu team will play against Zenit in the eighth round of the RPL on September 14 at their home stadium VEB Arena.
CSKA changed its head coach in the summer, dismissing Vladimir Fedotov and hiring Serbian Marko Nikolic, who had previously worked with Lokomotiv in Russia. Under the new coach’s leadership, the army team finished fifth in the Russian Premier League, collecting 13 points from seven starting rounds.
Previously was named The main favourite in the RPL.
