17-year-old Russian tennis player Mirra Andreeva failed to make it to the third round at the US Open and lost to 20-year-old US representative Ashlyn Kruger in the second round of the tournament.

The match, which lasted 1 hour and 6 minutes, ended with two sets of 6:1 and 6:4. During the match, the Russian tennis player served four times, made two double faults and converted three of the five break points earned. In the next round, the American tennis player could face another Russian, Lyudmila Samsonova. In the second round match, she will face the Czech representative Marie Bouzkova.

In the first round, Andreeva defeated Colombian Maria Osorio-Serrano. The match, which lasted 1 hour and 39 minutes, ended with a score of 6:2, 7:6.

The only awards for the Russian team at the 2024 Olympics were won by tennis players Mirra Andreeva and Diana Schneider – they finished second in the women’s doubles. These medals do not count towards the final standings.
