Zenit St. Petersburg midfielder Maxim Glushenkov underwent surgery after suffering a hand injury in the Russian Premier League (RPL) Round 5 match against Khimki near Moscow. reported Ivan Karpov from the inside.
According to the source, the 24-year-old midfielder will soon be moving with a metal knitting needle in the bones of his right hand. The radius fracture is expected to heal in about 3-4 weeks.
Glushenkov joined Zenit from Lokomotiv in June 2024. The player played four matches in the RPL before the match against Khimki, scoring seven goals and making one assist in those matches.
The meeting ended with a score of 1:1.
Edgardo Fariña opened the scoring for the Moscow region team, with Andrei Mostovoy equalising with two minutes left in regulation time.
