A Russian boxer described his meeting with an athlete who failed a gender test 19:06

European Championship silver medalist Russian boxer Karina Tazabekova recounted her battle with Taiwanese athlete Lin Yuting, who failed a gender test in 2017. The athlete’s words are quoted “Fontanka.ru”.

“Although such conversations have not yet taken place, I immediately had the feeling that I was boxing with a child. Skinny girls are not very strong, but Yuting has a strong punch. In general, I lost, but I boxed with dignity,” said Tazabekova.

He also said that Yuting didn’t have a complete advantage.

“She lost to some girls in amateur boxing, she doesn’t have a complete advantage. If they were really men, they would beat everyone ahead of schedule,” the Russian woman added.

In the semi-finals of the 2024 Olympics tournament, Yuting defeated Esra Yıldız, a representative of Turkey, in the 57 kg weight class. The fight lasted the three rounds specified by the rules and ended with a score of 5-0 in Yuting’s favor. The Taiwanese athlete will compete for the gold medal with the winner of the fight between Nesty Petecio, a representative of the Philippines, and Julia Szeremeta from Poland.
