Spartak’s former coach explained what he expects from the new player joining the team 08.08.2024, 22:40

Former Spartak Moscow head coach Fedor Kanareikin spoke about the club’s signing of 26-year-old Canadian forward William Bitten, calling him a player of a good level. The expert noted this in a comment to the portal Legal betting.

“We looked at his statistics, now we will wait for him to come to the team, how he will fit into the team and the system. He is a player of a good level, I would like to see this level in the KHL. The beginning of the season will show whether he adapts or not. Of course, looking at the transfers that took place in the KHL this off-season, Spartak may need a good player to complete their tasks,” says Kanareikin.

Bitten played in the American Hockey League (AHL) before moving to the Kontinental Hockey League – spending two and a half years with the St. Louis Blues’ farm club, the Springfield Thunderbirds. Last season, the forward scored 17 goals and had 16 assists in 68 AHL games. His contract with Spartak is for one season.

Last season, Spartak finished in fourth place in the KHL Western Conference standings. In the play-offs, the red-whites reached the quarterfinals, losing in a best-of-six series to the future Gagarin Cup winners Magnitogorsk Metallurg.

Previously coach Krikunov statedDynamo Minsk will surprise in the new KHL season.
