The management of Dynamo Makhachkala turned to the entrepreneur and former owner of Anzhi Suleiman Kerimov with a request for sponsorship to strengthen the team, to which Kerimov agreed. Journalist Ivan Karpov writes about this Telegram-channel.
According to Karpov, Kerimov plans to allocate 1 million euros to the Makhachkala club.
“Soon fans of Makhachkala residents should expect strong newcomers to fight for their place in the RPL,” Karpov said.
Dynamo Makhachkala finished second in the First League with 61 points in the 2023/24 season. This result allowed the team under head coach Khasanbi Bijiev to qualify directly for the Russian Premier League (RPL).
In the first round of the RPL, the Makhachkala team drew with Khimki near Moscow, who were promoted to the First League at the end of the 2023/24 season. The meeting ended with a score of 1:1. In the second round, Dynamo drew 0-0 with Krasnodar.
In the third round of the Russian Championship, Dynamo will compete with Paris Nizhny Novgorod. The game will be played on August 4 and will start at 20:30 Moscow time.
