American football club Atlanta United has announced the signing of Russian midfielder Alexei Miranchuk, who plays for Italian club Atalanta. The official Twitter account of the American team published a message depicting the Europa League trophy, with the black and blue stripes changing to red and black.
“Same lines, different colors,” the message read.
Miranchuk has been playing for Atalanta since 2020 after spending time on loan at Torino. The 28-year-old Russian player played 42 matches in all competitions for Bergamasco last season, scoring 4 goals and making 12 assists in those matches. In total, he scored 13 goals and made 19 assists in 98 matches for the Italian club. Miranchuk won the Europa League with Atalanta.
In 2011, Alexey Miranchuk and his twin brother Anton moved to the Lokomotiv Moscow academy. The brothers made their debut in the main team of the “railway workers” in 2013. Alexey did not leave the club until he moved to Atalanta.
