17-year-old Andreeva defeated her opponent in the tournament in Romania and advanced to the semi-finals 12:45

17-year-old Russian tennis player Mirra Andreeva advanced to the semifinals of the WTA-250 series tournament held in Iasi, Romania.

In the quarterfinals, the Russian athlete defeated Croatian representative Leja Boskovic. The match, which lasted 1 hour and 9 minutes, ended in two sets with the scores of 6:2 and 6:0.

During the match, Andreeva managed to convert five out of six possible break points and complete two serves.

The 17-year-old Russian will play the winner of the match between Serbian tennis player Olga Danilovic and world champion Anna Bondar, who represents Hungary, to reach the final.

On March 6, the International Tennis Federation announced that it had decided to allow Russian and Belarusian tennis players to compete in the 2024 Summer Olympics in France under neutral status. The Russians and Belarusians will be eligible to compete in the 2024 Olympics if they adhere to the principles of neutral athletes previously formulated by the International Olympic Committee. Andreeva was accepted to the Olympics and will play in Paris.
