Russian forward and Washington Capitals captain Alexander Ovechkin has said whether he plans to follow the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. His words are leading “Sports Express”.
“If I have time, I will watch the Olympics. Why? Are you cheering for tennis players? I will support all our people!” – said Ovechkin.
The 2024 Summer Olympics will be held in Paris, France, from July 26 to August 11.
At the end of February 2022, the International Olympic Committee issued an appeal to international sports federations, recommending that Russian and Belarusian athletes should not be allowed to participate in any competitions. The organization decided to accept Russians and Belarusians as neutral athletes at the 2024 Olympic Games at the end of 2023. To participate, they had to meet a number of conditions and qualify.
July 18 IOC published the full list Russian athletes have been accepted to the 2024 Olympic Games. A total of 15 people are going to the Games with neutral status.
