Honorary President of the Russian Football Union (RFU) Vyacheslav Koloskov, St. Petersburg’s Colombian striker Zenit noted the uniqueness of Mateo Cassierra’s quintet in the match against Akhmat Grozny (5:1). The match took place as part of the 29th round of the Russian Championship. Koloskov was quoted as saying legal betting.
“This is a unique achievement not only for Russia, but also for world football. This does not happen every year, even in the best European championships,” Koloskov said.
Cassierra became the first player in the history of the Russian Premier League, which started in 2001, to score five goals in one match.
Moreover, this is only the second quintet in Zenit’s history. Alexander Kerzhakov scored the first goal in the 1/16 final of the Russian Cup on August 7, 2004.
The then 21-year-old striker scored five goals against Omsk Irtysh and Zenit won the match with a score of 7:1.
