Medvedev does not see himself as a favorite at Roland Garros 10:15

The world’s fourth racket, Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev, said that he did not include the person he sees as the favorite of the upcoming French Open (Roland Garros) in this list. His words lead the way Sport Keeda.

“If Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz play, I think they will be big favorites. They love this cover. They have won the Grand Slam tournaments. But now maybe everything is a little more open than ever,” Medvedev said.

The tournament will take place in Paris between May 26 and June 9. The current champion of Roland Garros is Novak Djokovic.

On May 14, Medvedev completed his performance at the Masters series tournament in Rome. In the fourth round of the tournament, the Russian athlete lost to the US representative Tommy Paul in two sets (1:6 and 4:6), thus Medvedev could not defend the title he won last year and lost 900 rating points. Now he has 6295 points.

On March 6, the International Tennis Federation (ITF) announced that it has decided to allow Russian and Belarusian tennis players to compete in neutral status at the 2024 Summer Olympics in France. Russians and Belarusians will be able to compete in the 2024 Olympics if they comply with the neutral athlete principles previously formulated by the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
