According to journalists, Russian hockey player Artemy Panarin was recognized as the most valuable player (MVP) of the National Hockey League (NHL) club “New York Rangers” Web site leagues.

Rangers are in first place in the Eastern Conference standings with 112 points.

Panarin has been playing for the Rangers since 2019.

On April 8, Panarin scored 115 points in the season, placing him in fourth place on the league’s top scorers list. This result surpasses the career records of Evgeni Malkin (113 points, 2008/09 season) and Alexander Ovechkin (112 points, 2007/08 season).

Among the Russians, in addition to Panarin, Nikita Kucherov, Alexander Mogilny and Sergei Fedorov also scored 115 or more points.

The Rangers will face Ottawa in their next game. The match will be played on April 16 and will be the last match of the regular season for the New York club.

In February 2024, the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) extended the suspension of the Russian national team. The organization stated that the IIHF Council will continue to monitor the situation and in May 2025 will consider the reintegration of the Russian and Belarusian national teams for the 2025/26 season.
