Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight champion Islam Makhachev surprised subscribers on his social networks with his image change. The fighter emerged with his head shaved.
“I gave a circle in oncoming traffic,” Makhachev captioned the video.
In October 2022, Makhachev defeated Brazilian Charles Oliveira to win the lightweight title.
On February 12, 2023, Makhachev defeated Alex Volkanovski by unanimous decision after five rounds at UFC-284. This was the Russian’s first title defence.
On October 21, 2023, Makhachev scored an early victory over Australian Alex Volkanovski in the main fight of the evening at the UFC 294 tournament in Abu Dhabi. The Russian player defeated his opponent by knockout in the first round and defended his title for the second time. For the fight, Makhachev received the “best performance of the night” bonus.
In June 2024, Makhachev will fight against American Dustin Poirier. The fighters agreed on this issue on social networks.
