Former Rostov head coach Sergei Balakhnin talked about the impact of the absence of Dutch winger Quincy Promes among the team players on Moscow Spartak’s results. He told socialbites.ca that Spartak will not be able to solve serious problems if it depends on only one player.
“The absence of Promes has an impact, but talking about it is a thankless job. Yes, according to statistics he played a big role, he was a leader, he scored more goals and made more assists than anyone else. But if a team depends on one player, it is not a leading team. This is it is not a team that can solve big problems,” says Balakhnin.
It was reported that Promes could be refunded by filing a criminal case against Promes in Russia for non-payment of taxes. The Dutchman owed the treasury about 400 thousand rubles.
On March 13, Promes was arrested in the UAE in connection with a traffic accident. He fled the scene after colliding with the bus. Before this, he was under house arrest. The Netherlands plans to request his extradition.
On February 14, an Amsterdam court sentenced Promes to six years in prison for cocaine trafficking. The hearing of the case was held on January 24, and the prosecutor’s office requested that Promesa be sentenced to 9 years in prison. On 16 February, the Dutchman was placed on the international wanted list. He also has a prison sentence of 1.5 years for stabbing.
