Former Rostov head coach Sergei Balakhnin spoke about the upcoming matches of Spartak and Zenit in the Russian Cup semi-final of the Russian Premier League (RPL). In a conversation with socialbites.ca, the expert said that Spartak has a chance to win the cup, and also expressed the opinion that the principle of confrontation is more important than the importance of the tournament.

“This is the Cup and there can be all kinds of nuances. Spartak has a chance to win the cup and will try to make the most of it. But it will be difficult, especially since this is a game with Zenit. It’s not even about the Cup, it’s about the confrontation itself. We know that there were serious conflicts and fights between players. So it will also happen in this context,” says Balakhnin.

The first match between Spartak and Zenit will be played in Moscow on Wednesday, April 3 and will start at 20.30 Moscow time.
