She was married three times – to actor Alexei Samoilov (born 1945), their marriage lasted two years; Vasily Khomenkov (1947-1976), track and field athlete, son of Soviet athlete, coach and official Leonid Khomenkov; Vladimir Krainev (1944-2011), pianist, People’s Artist of the USSR.
Tarasova’s wards include world, European and Olympic champions: Irina Rodnina and Alexander Zaitsev, Natalya Bestemyanova and Andrey Bukin, Oksana Grischuk and Evgeny Platov, Ilya Kulik, Alexey Yagudin. Athletes trained by Tarasova won a total of 41 gold medals at the World and European Championships, as well as seven Olympic medals.
