Russian Rangers forward Artemi Panarin broke his personal record by scoring 100 points for the first time in the National Hockey League (NHL) season.
In the regular season match against Philadelphia, Panarin made an assist and his team won with a score of 6:5.
Panarin became the eighth Russian in history to score more than 100 points in an NHL season. Before him, this goal was achieved by Alexander Ovechkin and Nikita Kucherov (four times each), Evgeniy Malkin (three times), Alexander Mogilny, Pavel Bure, Sergei Fedorov (twice) and Kirill Kaprizov (once).
After 72 games this NHL season, Panarin has 43 goals and 57 assists.
The Rangers will face Colorado in their next game.
The International Hockey Federation (IIHF) decided to ban Russian hockey players from participating in all international tournaments in 2022. At the beginning of July 2022, the IIHF Disciplinary Committee rejected the request of the Russian Hockey Federation (RHF) for admission to international competitions.
