Dragan Stojkovic, the head coach of the Serbian national team, said in his statement after the friendly match against the Russian national team that the early suspension completely spoiled the game. His words were quoted by socialbites.ca.
“We played pretty well for the first 20 minutes but then there was a sending off so everything happened. It was a great training match for the Russians, but not for us. The only good thing is that this defeat happened today. We were actually punished twice; both by being kicked out of the game and by a red card. “In my opinion, this decision spoiled the game, after which the spectators only saw the Russian team, not our team,” said Stojkovic.
The match, which took place at the VTB Arena stadium in Moscow, ended with the score of 4-0 for the Russian football players. The goals of the match were scored by Anton Miranchuk, Maxim Osipenko and Alexey Miranchuk, who converted the penalty. In the 88th minute, Arsen Zakharyan sent the fourth ball to the Serbian goal, but the goal was canceled due to Ivan Sergeev being offside. However, already in stoppage time, the author of the scored goal became Sergeev himself.
The Serbian national team was in the minority in the 21st minute after CSKA Moscow defender Milan Gajic was sent off.
