The Russian national team announced the starting 11 for the friendly match against the Serbian national team.

The squad of the national team: Matvey Safonov, Daniil Khlusevich, Maxim Osipenko, Alexander Silyanov, Sergei Volkov, Anton Miranchuk, Danil Glebov, Dmitry Barinov, Alexander Golovin, Konstantin Tyukavin, Ivan Oblyakov.

Golovin, who plays for Monaco, will lead the Russian team onto the field with the captain’s band.

The match will be played at the VTB Arena stadium in Moscow. The match start time is planned to be 20.00 Moscow time.

This is the Russian national team’s first match in 2024. Valery Karpin’s team will also face the Paraguayan national team on March 25 as part of the March training camp.

In the spring of 2022, the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) and the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) decided to suspend the participation of the Russian national team and all Russian clubs in all competitions controlled by these organizations. Since then the national team has played only friendly matches. In 2023, the Russian team played six such matches.
