Former Krasnodar football player Maxim Demenko evaluated the strength of the Paraguay and Serbia national teams, with whom Russia will play friendly matches.

“I read an interview with Valery Karpin. I think he watched the Serbia and Paraguay matches. He said these were equal teams. I think this is true. Football is now balanced. “It definitely won’t be an easy friendly match,” Demenko said.

In the spring of 2022, the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) and the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) decided to suspend the participation of the Russian national team and all Russian clubs in all competitions controlled by these organizations. Since then the national team has played only friendly matches.

On March 21, Valery Karpin’s team will play a friendly match with the Serbian national team at the VTB Arena. The meeting starts at 20.00 Moscow time.

On March 25, the Russian team will host Paraguay in Moscow.

Last year the Russians played six friendly matches.
