Valery Karpin, head coach of the Russian national team and Rostov, commented on Spartak forward Alexander Sobolev’s failure to be included in the national team list for the March training camp. His words are quoted “Sports Express”.
“Why didn’t they call Sobolev? Sobolev St. He played in St. Petersburg, you saw the play. He could not make the squad for the next match. Both training camp and those two games were taken into consideration. Physical fitness is also important,” Karpin said.
In the March matches, Karpin will be able to rely on forwards Fedor Chalov, Konstantin Tyukavin and Ivan Sergeev.
In the spring of 2022, the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) and the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) decided to suspend the participation of the Russian national team and all Russian clubs in all competitions controlled by these organizations.
In March 2024, the Russian national team will play two friendly matches. Valery Karpin’s team will face the Serbian national team participating in the 2024 European Championship on March 21 and Paraguay on March 25.
