Russian and Belarusian athletes have been suspended from international competitions since March 2022 due to a special military operation on Ukrainian territory. However, in December 2023, the IOC decided to allow athletes from Russia and Belarus to participate in the 2024 Games with neutral status and in accordance with the specified requirements.
