CSKA Moscow head coach Vladimir Fedotov, in his statement to Rostov after the Russian Premier League Russian Cup 1/4 final match, said that defender Igor Diveev was taken off the field to prevent the pain in his leg from getting worse. His words were quoted by socialbites.ca.

The 24-year-old defender was substituted during the match after spraining his ankle partway through the game.

“We hope that there is nothing serious with Diveev, let’s hope that everything will be fine. It is a shame that this happened, because Igor prepared a lot for his return to the field, put in a lot of effort,” said Fedotov.

The match played at the VEB Arena stadium in Moscow ended with the army team leading 2-0. Ilya Agapov scored the goal in the 63rd minute, and Tamerlan Musaev doubled the difference in the 84th minute.
