During the interview, Peter accidentally said in English: “My son said to me: “Brother, what’s going on?!” Yan’s manager, Sayat Abdrakhmanov, corrected the fighter’s slip: “Did your son call you ‘brother’?
Yang then wrote on his social networks: “I need to stop giving interviews in English,” adding a laughing emoticon.
On March 10 at UFC 299, Yang defeated Chinese fighter Song Yadong by unanimous decision.
Before this fight, Yan had lost his last three fights. In March 2023, Georgian Merab Dvalishvili defeated the Russian by unanimous decision.
