First Vice President of the Belarusian Football Federation Andrei Vasilevich said that there were no problems in the negotiations for the friendly match with the Russian national team. His words are quoted Sports24.
“Yes, the match between the Russian and Belarusian national teams will be played in June. Today, neither we nor Russia have a wide range of rivals for friendly matches, so our federations have been talking for a long time about the possibility of organizing a friendly match between our national teams.
“Considering the good relations between our federations, there were no problems in reaching an agreement on the friendly match,” he said.
In the spring of 2022, the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) and the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) decided to suspend the participation of the Russian national team and all Russian clubs in all competitions controlled by these organizations.
