Stanislav Cherchesov, former head coach of the Russian national team, appreciated the performance of Lokomotiv striker Artem Dzyuba in the match against Dynamo.
“It’s clear he’s not functionally ready yet, but we know that because of Artem’s size he needs to be functionally and most importantly emotionally ready. I saw neither one nor the other in Dzyuba at the Dynamo match and was sorry that he did not show himself. I will say that this negativity will cheer him up because he needs a certain support from a coach, a journalist or the situation,” Cherchesov said in an interview with the Rossiya 24 TV channel.
On March 3, Lokomotiv lost to Dinamo with a score of 1:2. Bitello and Makarov scored among the winners. Lokomotiv scored on Zhemaletdinov’s account. Dziuba was substituted at half-time.
This season, Dzyuba played 17 matches in the Russian Championship and four matches in the National Cup and scored four goals and three assists. Last season, the striker shared the title of the team’s top scorer with Wilson Isidore and Anton Miranchuk, who played for only half of the season.
Previously Dzyuba named pedestrian.
