Russian skater admitted that he took a break from his career due to the Russian ban 06:20

Russian figure skater Elizaveta Tuktamysheva spoke about the impact of the lack of international tournaments on the suspension of her career.

“I probably made this decision because I understood that Russian athletes are not yet allowed to participate in international competitions.

Our Federation does everything possible to motivate us, to have various startups and new projects. All of this, of course, helps a lot, but athletes who have already felt the taste of victories, especially international victories, and with whom I have a long history and a lot of experience in this regard, lack these emotions,” he told TELEVISION.

In the 2023/24 season, Tuktamysheva announced that she was taking a break from her professional career. Last season, the skater became the winner of the fourth stage of the Russian Grand Prix in Moscow and the sixth stage in Perm.

On December 24, 2022, Elizaveta Tuktamysheva became the bronze medalist of the Russian Championship (241.72 points). The best was Sofia Akatieva (249.74 points). Kamila Valieva took second place with 247.32 points.

Tuktamysheva is a silver medalist and European champion in single skating at the World Championships.
