Russian tennis player Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova could not reach the semi-finals of the WTA-500 tournament held in San Diego (USA). In the quarter-finals, the Russian lost to Ukrainian representative Marta Kostyuk with scores of 6:3, 4:6, 3:6.
The duration of the meeting lasted 3 hours and 15 minutes. The Russian has three double faults, four converted break points and not a single ace.
In the semifinals, Kostyuk will compete with American tennis player Jessica Pegula. The prize fund for the US tournament is $922,573.
In the updated Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) rankings, Pavlyuchenkova ranks 25th with 1874 points. Polish representative Iga Swiatek continues to lead (10,105 points). In second place is Belarusian representative Arina Sabalenko (8725 points), who is the champion at the Australian Open. Cori Gauff from the USA (6975 points) completed the top three. The best of the Russians is Daria Kasatkina, in 12th place (3063 points).
