Tampa Bay Lightning’s Russian forward Nikita Kucherov became the first player to reach 100 points in the current National Hockey League (NHL) season.
The 30-year-old forward had two assists in a regular season game against the New Jersey Devils. He currently has 100 points (37 goals and 63 assists) in 59 games.
Kucherov surpassed the 100-point mark for the second consecutive regular season and the fourth time in his career.
Last season, Kucherov finished fourth (30+82) in the NHL regular season behind David Pastrnak (Boston Bruins, 113 points), Leon Draisaitl (Edmonton Oilers, 129 points) and Connor McDavid (“Edmonton Oilers”, 153 points) .
The New Jersey-Tampa game will be played at the Prudential Center in Newark. In the 16th minute of the second period, the score was 2-1 in favor of Şimşek.
