Former head coach of the Russian national team Stanislav Cherchesov expressed hope that the situation regarding the contract between defender Georgy Dzhikia and Spartak Moscow will be resolved successfully. His words guide the way “Match TV”.

Dzhikia has been playing for Spartak since 2017. With the club he won the championship and the Russian Cup. Dzhikia played in only six matches in the Russian Premier League this season and spent an average of 72 minutes on the field. He last played in the RPL against Krasnodar on September 2 (0:2). He has not played in the National Cup since the match against Dynamo Moscow on October 4.

His contract with his club expires in June 2024. The player’s manager Vadim Shpinev said in a recent interview that Dzhikia will not sign a new contract while Guillermo Abascal is working in the team.
