Real Sociedad’s Russian midfielder Arsen Zakharyan was injured in the 26th round match of the Spanish Championship against Villarreal and was substituted.
Zakharyan was in the starting lineup. In an entertaining episode in the 71st minute of the match, the Russian player collided with Villarreal defender Yerson Camira and fell on the grass, injuring his right hand. He then left the field accompanied by doctors and Sheraldo Becker came on to finish the match in his place.
The match ended with Real Sociedad losing with a score of 1:3.
On August 19, 2023, Real Sociedad announced the transfer of Arsen Zakharyan from Dynamo Moscow. His contract with the team runs until June 2029. Zakharyan made his debut for Real Sociedad in the 75th minute of the match against Las Palmas on 25 August. In total, he played 19 matches for the Spanish club in La Liga and made one assist. The Russian did not play a single full match.
On October 24, Arsen Zakharyan made his debut for Real Sociedad in the Champions League match against Benfica. The Russian player entered the field in the 76th minute, replacing Ander Barrenechea, with the Spanish team’s score at 1-0.
