Italian Scuderia Ferrari pilot Charles Leclerc became the fastest name on the third day of the Formula 1 pre-season tests held in Bahrain.
The Monaco representative completed 74 laps at the end of the session and the best was 1 minute 30.322 seconds. Mercedes driver George Russell took second place, 0.046 seconds behind Leclerc. The third place in the final protocol was Guanyu Zhou from the “Steak” team, who lost the best time by 0.325 seconds.
It was noted that Leclerc and Russell completed their best laps on softer C4 tyres.
The current Formula 1 champion is Dutch Red Bull driver Max Verstappen. The driver is a three-time world champion in the Formula 1 class (2021, 2022 and 2023). He holds the record for most wins in a season and most consecutive Formula One Grand Prix victories.
The new season of the world’s main racing series starts on February 29, and on this day the first free practice races of the Bahrain Grand Prix will take place. The race will take place on March 2 and will start at 18:00 Moscow time.
