Valery Zykov, former captain of Dynamo Moscow in the 70s and former defender of the USSR national team, admitted that he worked in the KGB. His words are quoted “Sports Express”.

“I ran for veterans for a few years and in 1978 they took me to the seventh division. Recommended by former father-in-law, KGB colonel. He worked in the second directorate responsible for counterintelligence. And the “seven” is for external surveillance.

Who were they herding? Mostly American diplomats. But among the employees of other embassies there were also those suspected of involvement in special services,” Zykov said.

Zykov is a product of the youth teams of Nizhny Novgorod (formerly Gorky) clubs “Lokomotiv” and “Trudovye Reservy”. In 1966, the defender moved to Dynamo Moscow, where he played until 1975. He won the USSR Cup twice with the blue-whites.

Zykov played four matches for the USSR national team and was even included in the squad for the 1970 World Cup, but did not appear on the field.

Previously Radimov statedThat the Russian national team does not need Kokorin and that the national team does not need Kokorin.
