The rematch played between Marseille and Ukrainian Shakhtar in the 1/16 Europa League ended on February 23. The French club won with a score of 3:1.

Russian clubs other than Zenit did not play a single match in European cups in 2022. The Russian national team, led by Valery Karpin, played six friendly matches in 2023.
