Amsterdam Prosecutor’s Office Press Spokesperson Franklin Wattimena said what awaits convicted Spartak football player Quincy Promes if he comes to the Netherlands. His words are quoted RIA News.

“Promes requested safe entry to the Netherlands to testify, but we refused. “If he had landed in the Netherlands, he would have been arrested by the police,” Wattimena said.

On February 14, an Amsterdam court sentenced Promes to six years in prison for cocaine trafficking. The hearing of the case was held on January 24, and the prosecutor’s office requested that Promesa be sentenced to 9 years in prison. The Dutchman was placed on the international wanted list on 16 February.

On February 22, RBC reported that Promes was ready to testify in person in the Amsterdam court, provided that he was not arrested.

Promes has been playing for Spartak since February 2021. This is his second time joining the team. He played for the red-whites between 2014-2018. The Dutch player became the Russian champion with the team in the 2016/17 season.

The Dutch player scored six goals and made the same number of assists in 17 matches in the Russian championship this season.

Previously Utkin accused Spartak veterans trying to protect a drug trafficker.
