Valieva told why she is grateful to Putin

Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva appreciated the contribution of Russian President Vladimir Putin to the organization of the “Future Games” in her social networks.

“Russia is the first country to organize such an international tournament. This is a great virtue of our president. I am incredibly grateful to him,” Valieva wrote.

On February 21, the opening ceremony of the Future Games took place in Kazan, where Valieva sat next to Putin.

Professional athletes and clubs from all over the world are invited to the “Games of the Future”.

On January 29, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) found Valieva guilty of doping and disqualified the athlete for four years. He will not be able to compete in tournaments until December 2025.

On February 7, CAS published its reasoning. The Russian side claimed that the banned substance entered Valieva’s body as a result of eating the dessert prepared by her grandfather.

The figure skater was deprived of gold medals at the Russian Championship and the European Championship, and in the team tournament of the Olympic Games in Beijing the entire Russian team was deprived of gold.
