Promes’ objection was not rejected in his brother’s stabbing case

The Amsterdam Court of Appeal has not yet made a decision on the appeal of Spartak Moscow striker Quincy Promes, who was found guilty of an armed attack on his cousin in 2023. This was reported by RIA News.

According to court spokeswoman Melissa Zijlstra, only a preliminary hearing was held on February 20 and no decision was made on Promes’ appeal.

“It was a short hearing and there is no decision yet,” Zijlstra said.

The incident regarding the stabbing of the football player’s cousin took place at one of the parties in 2020. In June 2023, Promes was sentenced to one and a half years in prison.

On February 14, an Amsterdam court sentenced Promes to six years in prison for cocaine trafficking. The hearing of the case was held on January 24, and the prosecutor’s office requested that Promesa be sentenced to 9 years in prison. The Dutchman was placed on the international wanted list on 16 February.
