Former Ajax Amsterdam player Shak Swart said that he was surprised by the court’s decision in the case of Spartak Moscow striker Quincy Promes, who was sentenced to prison for drug trafficking. His words guide the way “Sports Express”.
“I read in the media that he was punished. But I can’t say anything about it. He was good at Ajax! But what I read in the newspapers surprised me,” Swart said.
On February 14, an Amsterdam court sentenced Promes to six years in prison for cocaine trafficking. The hearing of the case was held on January 24, and the prosecutor’s office requested that Promesa be sentenced to 9 years in prison. The Dutchman was placed on the international wanted list on 16 February.
Promes has been playing for Spartak since February 2021. This is his second time joining the team. He played for the red-whites between 2014-2018. The Dutch player became the Russian champion with the team in the 2016/17 season.
The Dutch player scored six goals and made the same number of assists in 17 matches in the Russian championship this season.
