Olympic champion on transferring to the US team: out of the question

Russian snowboarder Vic Wild, a two-time Olympic champion, said in an interview: RIA NewsHe said that even if he received such an offer, he would never accept to play for the US team.

“I have not received any offers. There is no promise that I will go to America and play there, I will not accept it,” he said.

Wild was born in Washington state. He competed for Team USA for 11 seasons but decided to change his citizenship to Russian after marrying Russian snowboarder Alena Zavarzina. On 21 December 2012, he made his debut for the Russian national team at the World Cup stages.

Wild won two gold medals at the 2014 Olympics in Sochi. Wild added an Olympic bronze medal to his treasury in 2022. He announced his retirement immediately after the Games.
