Russian player becomes the first star of the match day in the NHL

New York Rangers’ Russian forward Artemy Panarin became the star of the first matchday of the National Hockey League (NHL). This was reported by press service leagues.

On the night of February 19, Moscow time, the Rangers met the New York Islanders on the road. Panarin scored a goal in overtime and gave his team the victory with a score of 6:5. This goal was the striker’s 32nd goal of the regular season. He also made two assists in the match. Panarin took the ice in a total of 55 Rangers matches in the 2023/24 season and scored 74 points in these matches.

The second star of the day was Swedish Los Angeles Kings forward Adrian Kempe. He scored a double in a 2-1 win against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Canadian Colorado Avalanche forward Nathan MacKinnon was named the third star to record a goal and an assist (4:3) in the match against the Arizona Coyotes.
