New York Rangers’ Russian forward Artemy Panarin repeated his personal record in the number of goals in matches in the regular season of the National Hockey League (NHL).
On the night of February 19, Panarin scored a goal in overtime of the match against the New York Islanders and brought his team victory with a score of 6:5. This goal was the striker’s 32nd goal of the regular season. Thus, the personal goalscoring record in the regular season, set in the 2019/20 season, is repeated.
Panarin appeared on the ice in a total of 55 Rangers games in the 2023/24 season and recorded 74 points – 32 goals and 42 assists – in these games.
Panarin has been playing in the National Hockey League since 2015. He signed a seven-year contract with the Rangers in July 2019 that was supposed to net him $81.5 million. He also played for the Chicago Blackhawks and Columbus Blue Jackets.
Thanks to the victory over the Islanders, the Rangers extended their NHL regular season winning streak to seven games. The team is in second place in the Eastern Conference standings with 75 points.
