Former CSKA and USSR national team defender Vladimir Ponomarev spoke about the relationship between Zenit coach Sergei Semak and defender Danil Krugovoy. His words are quoted “Euro-Football.Ru”.

“Maybe he had some kind of disagreement with Semak. It became clear that the football player wanted to play in the A team but was not included in the squad. A hoops player cannot sit on the bench, this is a lack of match practice. Such players are always out of form. “I think Semak was wrong in this case to be excluded from the season application and deprived of training due to the conflict,” Ponomarev said.

CSKA announced on January 17 that it had signed a four-year contract with Krugov. The defender, who will play for Zenit in the second half of the 2023/24 season, will be transferred to the Moscow club as a free agent after his contract expires. After the official announcement, the football player was transferred to Zenit-2 and was removed from the main team application.

Krugovoi has been playing for Zenit since 2019. He is a member of the team.

Krugovoy played in 12 matches in the Russian Premier League (RPL) this season and made one assist. Petersburgers take second place in the championship.
